KARATE FOR HEALTH DEFENCE

This morning session deals with unlocking the three common areas of tension in the body that prevent utilising the hara for martial technique. We’ll also cover how to approach treating injuries and damage to the knees, elbows and wrists as well as kiko breathing exercises to enhance practice.

The second part of the morning session will explore the body dynamics of shiko-dachi and sanchin-dachi for greater health.

Gi bottoms and T-shirt are best for this session. Bring a yoga mat if you can, there will be some available.

BEYOND BUNKAI

An extended training session along the lines of munenmuso bringing the meditative process of traditional Okinawan training into practice.  The focus of the session will be on developing intuitive responses to defence and how it relates to kata application.

Full dogi preferred.
